Vitamin D

Vitamin D is needed for children and adults for healthy bone growth. Lack of this vitamin in children can cause rickets, and in adults – softening of bones and increased risk of fractures. Current scientific research links vitamin D deficiency with immune disorders, increased susceptibility to infections, the development of some types of cancer, diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular disease. Vitamin D also plays a very important role in the regulation of reproductive processes in both women and men.
